How do I install apps on my Sony's Android Television set?

Before yous start

  • This article is for Android TV™ models only. If your Boob tube is not an Android Boob tube, refer to this other article for which apps are available on your TV.
  • You can but download apps that are compatible with TVs. These apps may differ from apps for mobile devices.
  • Check if the app you want to download is available for your Android TV.
  • Make sure your Television set is connected to a network with an active net connection.
  • You must take a Google™ account to download apps from the Google Play™ store.

How to download and install apps

  1. On the supplied remote control, printing theDwelling button.
  2. NetherApps, select theGoogle Play Shop.
  3. On the Google Playstore screen, select the search icon.
    • The search appears and the microphone icon turns red.
    • To search for the proper noun of the app, say the name of the app using the Voice search characteristic of your TV.
    • If y'all desire to use the on-screen keyboard, press the right arrow push button to display it.
  4. Select the app.
  5. SelectInstall.

How to launch an installed app

  1. Press theHOME push button.
  2. UnderApps, select the app that you lot installed.
    • On TVs with Android 8.0 Oreo OS, select theApps icon to display the list of installed apps.

How to uninstall an app

  1. Press theHabitation button.
  2. NetherApps, selectGoogle Play Shop.Y'all'll be asked to log into your Google account if y'all oasis't logged in all the same.
    • On TVs with Android 8.0 Oreo OS, selectAppsand so selectGoogle Play Store.
  3. On the left pane, selectMy Apps.
  4. Select the app yous want to uninstall.
  5. SelectUNINSTALL.
  6. SelectOK to confirm.

Note: You tin't uninstall a pre-installed app.
